The UPEACE doctoral cohort from Mogadishu, Somalia, attended a special workshop at the Makerere University School of Business. Prepared by Makerere professors and tutors, the two days of lectures and discussion provided a framework for the coming doctoral studies. The UPEACE Somalia cohort then attended the International Leadership Conference in Kampala, Uganda which is an annual event in the Makerere calendar. This year’s special guest was H.E. Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir, Minister of Education, Culture, and Higher Education of the Federal Government of Somalia. This regional collaboration highlights the growing academic influence of UPEACE Somalia and the strong partnerships that the UPEACE Africa Programme has fostered with Makerere University and higher education institutions in Uganda.
